National Careers Service: CV Workshop - Wednesday 19th March 2025 (Fortnightly)
Update your CV and get tailored support for specific Jobs/Sectors. Note, this is not a "create a CV from scratch" workshop and participants are expected to have a CV already made before the session. Ideal for customers who are comfortable with IT and have good communication to cope with group sessions.
National Careers Service: Identifying Skills for Job Applications Workshop - Monday 10th March 2025 (Fortnightly)
Understanding your skills and how they can be used in the workplace is important when looking for and progressing in work.
In this workshop, we will cover:
- Why it’s important to understand your skills and how they can be used in the workplace
- How skills are transferrable between different occupations
- Understanding the difference between "hard" and "soft" skills
- How understanding your skills can enhance the relevance and quality of your CV and job applications
- Useful tools including the Skills Health Check which can help you to identify your strengths and skills and broaden your career horizons
- How the National Careers Service can support you to reach your career goals
Adult Education Service: Essential Skills Assessment - (Every Mon, Wed and Fri)
Interested in improving functional skills-- Maths, English and Digital?
An initial assessment is a way to check what you already know and what you need to learn before starting a new course or training.
- Purpose: To find out your current knowledge and skills.
- Methods: A number of questions taken on a computer
- Benefits: Helps tutors create a learning plan just for you.
Participants must be aged 19+ and have recourse to public fund.
Adult Education Service: Digital Skills Drop- in Session - (Every Thursday)
The purpose of the digital skills drop-in session is to support you in your journey into work, study or further training.
We offer sessions on accessing the internet, sending and receiving emails, creating CVs, and conducting online job searches.
To gain the maximum benefit from the support available and work towards a qualification, customers are encouraged to attend two consecutive sessions whenever possible.
