Coventry City Council (Local) election results
Coventry City Council is divided into 18 wards each with three Councillors [/councillors]. Councillors are elected by a simple majority - whoever gets the most votes - and serve for four years at a time. Elections are held in three years out of four.
Local elections are usually held on the first Thursday in May. But this date may vary, so that local elections are held on the same day as a Parliamentary election.

BID ballot
A ballot has been undertaken to give eligible business ratepayers the option to vote yes or no for the proposal of the formation of a Business Improvement District (BID) for Coventry city centre [https://www.coventrycitycentre.co.uk].
The vote was a postal ballot; the Coventry city centre BID ballot was conducted by Electoral Reform Services who are based in London, on behalf of Coventry City Council.
Business ratepayers were entitled to vote if they were listed as a non-domestic ratepayer on the date that the notice of the ballot was sent and their rateable value was £16,000 or more. Those entitled to vote were sent a ballot paper on 15 January 2018.
